Role Overview
Al-Azhar Islamic Academy (AIA) is seeking a qualified Information Systems Developer to design, develop, and manage an integrated, secure digital ecosystem supporting academic, administrative, and financial operations.
This position requires independent technical judgment and advanced expertise in software development and systems integration to translate institutional requirements into scalable, automated, and API-driven software solutions. The role is classified as a professional specialty position requiring a strong academic background and hands-on technical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Development
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using PHP (Laravel), JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Build modular, secure, and scalable application components following best practices.
- Optimize system performance, data integrity, and long-term maintainability.
- Automation & API Integration
- Implement RESTful API integrations with third-party platforms and financial services (e.g., Stripe).
- Automate institutional workflows including tuition processing, recurring billing, and financial reporting.
- Ensure secure authentication, data validation, and compliance with privacy and financial standards.
- Institutional Information Systems
- Develop and manage a custom institutional information system centralizing student enrollment, academic records, and administrative operations.
- Design structured data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making.
- Specialized Educational Data Modules
- Develop digital modules to track:
- Student academic performance
- Quran memorization (Hifz) progress
- Behavioral and engagement indicators
- Align system functionality with the Academy’s curriculum framework and educational objectives.
- Develop digital modules to track:
- Arabic Localization & Bilingual Platforms
- Design and implement Arabic (RTL) user interfaces for internal and parent-facing systems.
- Produce bilingual digital reports and dashboards for administrators and parents.
- Infrastructure & System Reliability
- Manage Linux and Windows server environments.
- Implement system security measures, access controls, automated backups, and uptime monitoring.
- Ensure database reliability and operational continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Laravel, MySQL, and RESTful API development
- Strong understanding of system automation, secure application design, and data-driven platforms
- Language Requirement:
- Advanced Arabic proficiency (reading and writing) required for RTL localization and bilingual reporting
- Professional Experience:
- Experience in software development, systems analysis, and institutional workflow automation
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA or equivalent expertise in secure network architecture and systems administration.
- Experience: Prior experience developing educational platforms, enterprise systems, or complex institutional automation solutions.

Substitute Teacher

AIA is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible part-time substitute teaching assignments. Assignments may include one or multiple days. Substitutes who qualify can be called upon should there be a need.
Duties
- Teach Grades K-6 in subjects such as ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Math.
- Provide instruction in accordance with established class and grade outlines and expectations.
- Follow step-by-step lesson plans provided by the teacher.
- Possess both depth and range of knowledge in major subject areas.
